Tessa Brewis discusses her career and favourite sector to work in
Tessa shares that she’s been fortunate to work on M&A deals across various sectors, learning something new from each one. If she had to pick a favourite, it would be the projects and energy sector, particularly renewable energy. "These transactions are typically complex and require large multidisciplinary teams to address the legal, financial, technical, and environmental aspects," she says.
Tessa emphasises the importance of having a strong team. "One thing that makes all the difference is the incredible team of lawyers I work with at CDH. My colleagues are experts in their fields, and I know I can rely on their expertise. Together, we’ve got this."
When things go wrong, her advice is to accept that mistakes happen and focus on finding practical, efficient solutions. "It’s not about never making mistakes, but about identifying, fixing, and learning from them," she says. She also shares a quote from Banksy that resonates with her: "If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit."
