Divina began her legal career at a prominent litigation firm in Johannesburg, where she trained serving her articles and then worked as an associate and later as a Senior Associate, specialising in general commercial and property law litigation. Divina then joined a niche environmental law firm in Cape Town to apply her academic knowledge of environmental law. There, she worked on environmental and administrative law cases, led various legal matters with international partners, and focused on ensuring environmental authorizations were obtained and decision-makers were held accountable for any procedural shortcomings. Additionally, Divina handled regulatory compliance and drafted opinions for renewable energy projects. In Johannesburg, she also led the Wellness program and played a key role in mentoring and training new attorneys.
