CDH appoints Vivien Chaplin to join its award-winning Corporate & Commercial practice
Vivien, a finalist in the Businesswoman of the Year (Legal) in 2010, winner of Lexology ILO Client Service Award for Corporate Law: South Africa (2019) as well as being listed under Commercial, Corporate and M&A, Legal 500 EMEA in 2018-2019, has significant experience in the Corporate and Commercial sphere.

Vivien’s focus is on corporate and commercial law with specific emphasis on local and cross border mergers and acquisitions, including structuring, due diligence and drafting of all transaction documents, Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) transactions and advice, Employee Share Ownership Plans (ESOP) and corporate restructures.
She has over 20 years of experience in company law and corporate governance issues as well as drafting specialised commercial contracts, employee share schemes, and BEE transactions. She has advised on several BEE and unbundling transactions in the mining, aviation, IT, film, industrial and logistics sectors. She has also assisted major mining companies with the drafting of high value long-term supply and offtake agreements.
She provides training on BEE, corporate governance, procurement and supply chain contract drafting to private and public companies, regularly speaks on these topics at conferences and has published numerous articles on corporate law and BEE developments.
