Experience
Acting as borrower counsel for a large South African fund with regards to a ZAR700,000,000 loan facility provided to it by a consortium of lenders, including Nedbank, Sanlam and Ninety One.
Acting as lender counsel for Rand Merchant Bank (a division of FirstRand Bank) in relation to a ZAR4,000,000,000 preference share and revolving credit facility (regulated by a common terms agreement) advanced by it to a large South African entity, used for the purposes of refinancing existing debt.
Acting as lender counsel for RMB in relation to a ZAR53,000,000 preference share facility provided by it to Global Capital in relation to an acquisition by Global Capital of a stake in a large South African betting Company.
Acting as lender counsel for RMB in a cross- border transaction pursuant to which a GBP50,000,000 bridge loan facility was advanced to an entity, which was used towards the acquisition of ordinary shares in Virgin Active International.
Acting as lender counsel for RMB South Africa and RMB London in a real estate finance matter with various properties located in Scotland and England.
Acting as lender counsel in a syndicated facility agreement with RMB, The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and Investec Bank Limited pursuant to which 5 different facilities were provided to a large South African entity.
