He advises on all aspects of South African corporate and commercial law including listings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, establishment of new businesses, property-related transactions, and broad-based black economic empowerment transactions.

Charl joined Hofmeyr (now Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr) as a Candidate Attorney in 1998. He was appointed as an Associate in 1999, and became a Director in 2005.
