CDH Wins Best Large Firm Award for 2020 at the 2021 Annual Pro Bono Awards Ceremony

CDH were recipients of The highest number of pro bono hours in 2020 Award contributing the highest number of pro bono time in 2020, amounting to over 4000 hours, as well as The Large Firm award for 2020. In addition, the Practice received a Special Mention for the many years of work on the Jose Brothers case, for enforcing their right to citizenship under section 4(3) of the Citizenship Act. Further to the accolades attained by the Practice, Senior Associate Tricia Erasmus, and Associate Gift Xaba were given a special mention for their long-standing dedication and commitment to the Johannesburg Refugee clinic and clients, for showing tenacity and patience.
“I am truly humbled and honoured to receive a special mention for the work we have done over the last few years,” said Tricia. It has been my privilege to assist those most in need and I hope to continue to serve my community in the future,” she continued.

In addition to establishing a dedicated Practice, to provide high-quality, dedicated legal services to deserving individuals, organisations, and communities CDH encourages all its experts to provide legal assistance to the vulnerable, within their practice specialty.
ProBono.Org is an NGO founded in 2006 that seeks to harnesses the skills and services of the private legal profession to aid and represent the most vulnerable and marginalised people. It acts as a clearing house that matches and refers clients to volunteering private lawyers. Each year it hosts an awards ceremony to recognize those who have gone the extra mile in making pro bono contributions. CDH has a longstanding partnership with ProBono.Org, as one of the vehicles through which it provides much needed pro bono legal services to those in need.
