The Chambers Global Guide 2014 rankings were published on 13 March 2014. Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr is ranked in twelve practice areas this year and 27 individual rankings were achieved. Five directors in the firm received Band 1 rankings in their respective sectors.

Brent Williams, CEO of Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr said, “What makes the rankings truly noteworthy is that greater weighting is given to the views of the clients who were surveyed.  This confirms that we are delivering excellent client service and are being rewarded for it.

“We are thrilled that our vision of becoming the leading business law firm in South Africa and Africa has once again been acknowledged by our clients and expressed through our numerous awards in the past 12 months. For example, in February we took top honours in the DealMakers Awards for M&A deal flow  and deal value. Earlier in March, we were named South Africa's No. 1 Large Law Firm for 2013 in the PMR Africa survey,” he noted.

In addition, the firm was voted as the number one law firm in Africa in the recent Legal Week Client Satisfaction Survey.  The firm, which is a member of the DLA Piper Africa Group, has to-date been involved in many significant transactions in a range of sectors on the African continent.
