Annual increase to the National Minimum Wage (NMW) – Effective 1 March 2025
In accordance with the requirements of section 6(5) of the Act, the Minister published the adjusted NMW rates in the Government Gazette today (4 February 2025), increasing the rates as follows:
- NMW increases from R27.58 to R28.79 for each ordinary hour worked. This includes farm workers and domestic workers.
- Expanded public works programme worker: R15.83 per hour
Workers who have learnership agreements (section 17 of the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998)
